Week nine - its nearly Christmas!

Keira is ready for Christmas already...

Noah brought these intricate models to show and tell.

Painting our salt dough animals.

'Varnishing' with PVA glue and a drop of water.

The maypole has been taken away - what a big space!

This pile of earth are fascinating but we don't know what it is for...

Our Santa letters received replies - complete with Santa stickers and a colouring book, we were SO lucky!

Noah started in Room One this week, welcome Noah!

Vince started school too.

Emma came on her first visit.

Jaxson has filled another sticker chart!

James started in Ngaio too.

Ewan came on his first visit, like Emma.

We went on a listening walk and drew the things we could hear.

Our last week of tennis with Suzanne.

Making Christmas Angels - they are all hanging up in class and look gorgeous!

Vince, another new child, working carefully on his Christmas spinner.

Look at these angels! Stunning! They will go home at the end of term and will look great for years to come.

Cohen brought two of his nine puppies to show and tell, they are totally adorable and Mrs Savill was sorely tempted...

Snuggly!

Rudolph came to visit too.

Noah has an American rugby ball.

Sharing a doodling sketch book.

Kayla was on a visit too this week.

Maths shapes, we can now name many shapes and know how many sides and corners they have!

Our Christmas postbox is emptied every day by our special helper.

Noah was really helpful to Cohen with cutting out his shapes.

Buddy reading is awesome!

Week eight in Room One, November 2015.

Ozzy has filled his first sticker chart already.

So has Charlie! What amazing children I have in my classroom!

We have been on a shapes walk, finding different shapes in our environment, Isaac found a rectangle to stand on.

Alice is in a triangle and Cohen is standing in his rectangle .

Gosh, we counted six - or was it seven- squares to stand in. Find this place in the courtyard and count them for yourself.

Our class logo is in an oval, a new shape for  many of us.

Whilst exploring shapes some of the children made incredible designs. Look at Clinton!

These lads are counting and checking up on each others totals.

Addison and Roman had great conversations around their shape constructions.

Show and tell is always popular...

Look at the Christmas Elf hat!

So cute!

Who could resist that grin? We all wrote letters to Santa this week (do come and read them on the wall in the purple corner) and everyone had the chance to don this awesome hat for a photo! Thanks Keira for sharing it.

Tennis coaching continued and we were balancing the balls on our racquets.

Playing catch and throw, ensuring the ball goes into the pond but our feet do not!

More capacity experimenting to find which bowl holds the most.

Salt dough lesson two.

Creatures of our own design.

Maths - individual time with Mrs Savill so see how much we know - you blew my hat off, Room One!

Alex had his first school visit.

Noah had his first school visit too.

One of our favourite stories is 'The otter who wanted to hold hands". Following this tale, we played at being otters and sleeping together in an otter raft holding paws...

Addison with his third full certificate.

Isaac with his second!

We are so good at keeping our classroom tidy at the end of the day that we received the "We Care' award again in assembly on Friday, well done Room One.

Star of the week, week eight November 2015.

Noah is our star this week and I am delighted in his progress in my class regarding the building of his confidence. Noah is now able to express his needs and ideas which means he is making more friends, joining in our class discussions and feeling so great about himself. Ka Pai, Noah, keep this us, it's so good to see!
