Week two in Ngaio, second term 2016.

Beau was delighted to begin school. Welcome Beau.
Welcome to our record of our second week in Ngaio class since the Easter break, gosh, it has flown by hasn't it? We have a super class and some new faces for you to meet this week.

Ewan brought his fire engine to school for show and tell - his dad said if he could carry it, it could come and guess what? He could carry it, much to his parents' surprise! What a fabulous toy!

Kobie brought her cat which then had three kittens on the mat!

Look at our super sharing things this week!

Mrs Savill bought some new toys and this dolly is one of them, the class voted to call her Chloe.

Jayden started school on Monday too, welcome to you as well, Jayden.

On Monday afternoons we join up with the older children in Room 10 for maths games, a great opportunity to learn from each other.

Bella and Kobie are hard at work on their Core 5 programmes

Ewan  and Zane were making up a design together with pegs.

Maddie came on her first visit and was so chuffed to be with us!

Twice this week we were fortunate to have hockey coaching, we joined with Room 3 Pohutukawa for this opportunity.

We learned to play Creep Up Jack.
Anita came on three visit this week, she is already five and has come from Mapua school, she starts with us on Monday next week, welcome Aneisha.

Our story we shared with the Kindy was I Spy and we used teddies and duplo blocks to learn about positional language.

This teddy is on a block. We also showed our teddies under, behind, in front of, next to and in!

Building is great! we have a Creation Station in class for things we make that we want to continue with, show other people or come back to another day.

Wow Kayla and Alex have another piece of writing for their K.I.T (Keeping In Touch) books.

Ewan has a super piece of writing to share at home too.

Learning to 'turn and talk' - sharing ideas.

Emma is threading her numbers.

These boys were making a complex number line through the table legs!

Sol has spotted an error - can you?

Bella has K.I.T book progress to share at home too.

Lastly some homework certificates to share - these children all worked on 's' last week and cut and pasted pictures into their alhabet books, all of things beginning with out letter of the week.
This week our letter is 'i; now that's a tricky one, you may only find ice-cream pictures!

Super homework from Kaden....

....and Emma...

...and Kobie!

In maths we have been learning all about sequencing events and time. The children know about night and day, yesterday, today and tomorrow and can almost all sequence events of a day. Please talk about this at home with time and encourage 'before' and 'after' language in addition to using the days of the week. Thanks so much, see you next week!
